# Phase 4: Training Program

!!!info
**Training Program: Phase 4 of the [Intratec Recruitment Process](../recruiting-process.md)**\
Reach Rate: 0.1% of all candidates reach this phase

*This statistic includes candidates who dropped out, missed deadlines, or were not selected by Intratec.*

!!!

At Intratec, we recognize that evaluating candidates based solely on resumes, interviews, and brief interactions may not reveal their full potential. At the same time, we believe that group activities or endless interviews often favor candidates skilled in self-promotion rather than those genuinely aligned with our values and qualified for joining Intratec.

To address this, we created our **Training Program** — a pivotal step in our recruitment process that transcends conventional evaluation techniques. This program is built on a clear and mutually beneficial foundation:

* **For candidates**: it provides hands-on training, offering a firsthand experience of Intratec's daily operations while fostering essential skills that are highly valued in the job market.
* **For Intratec**: it allows us to assess how well candidates align with our values and approach to work through real-world challenges.

This process not only helps us identify the best fit for our team but also gives candidates a deeper understanding of our company's culture and expectations. As a result, both parties can make well-informed decisions about forming a promising relationship, paving the way for internships with a higher likelihood of evolving into full-time analyst positions.

The table below highlights how our **Training Program** empowers candidates by offering a fairer, more enriching, and transparent recruitment process:

| **Aspect** | **Intratec Training Program** | **Traditional Recruitment Practices** |
|----|----|----|
| **Evaluation Method** | Real-world problem-solving to demonstrate skills in action. | Focuses on resumes, group dynamics, and surface-level qualities. |
| **Candidate Experience** | Provides firsthand exposure to company operations and culture. | Limited to theoretical or rehearsed scenarios. |
| **Skill Development** | Offers training in problem-solving, critical thinking, and adaptability. | No skill development; evaluates existing knowledge only. |
| **Mentorship** | Includes personalized guidance from Intratec partners and analysts. | Minimal or no mentorship; limited to brief interactions. |
| **Financial Support** | Provides R$2,000 cost assistance, upfront, to support candidate participation. | No financial support; candidates bear all costs. |
| **Alignment** | Evaluates practical alignment with company values and work style. | Focuses on theoretical discussions during interviews. |
| **Decision-Making** | Facilitates informed, mutual decisions about the internship and long-term potential. | Based on incomplete analysis, leading to potential mismatches. |
| **Outcome** | Excellent candidates with high chances of becoming full-time analysts | Regular candidates misaligned with company needs. |

## **What is the Intratec Training Program?**

It is a **four-week** training period with a total workload of **120 hours**. It is designed to train participants in essential skills that are not only critical for success at Intratec but also highly valued in today's dynamic job market. These skills include:

* Problem-Solving
* Critical and Structured Thinking
* Logical Reasoning
* Learning and Adaptability

Throughout the program, **candidates will primarily engage in solving real problems faced by Intratec**, under the guidance of Intratec's partners and analysts, gaining invaluable experience and mentorship.

## **What are the Training Program Requirements?**

To participate in the Intratec Training Program, candidates must ensure they have sufficient availability to engage in the training without compromising their engineering undergrad progress. To maintain this balance, **participants cannot take on extracurricular commitments exceeding 5 hours per week individually or 10 hours per week in total**. Academic responsibilities directly tied to their engineering degree—such as coursework, university projects, and exams—are not considered extracurricular and therefore do not fall under these limitations.

Examples of activities that contribute to this weekly limit include:

* Other internships
* Research fellowships (such as scientific initiation)
* Teaching assistantships
* Master-degree graduation classes/assignments
* Freelance or part-time jobs

**Illustrative Scenarios:**

✅ Allowed: A student who has a research fellowship requiring 4 hours per week and occasional volunteer work of 2 hours per week, totaling 6 hours.

❌ Not Allowed: A student with a part-time job requiring 6 hours per week and a research fellowship demanding another 6 hours, summing up to 12 hours.

The rationale behind this requirement is to ensure that candidates can dedicate themselves to **both their university undergrad studies and the Intratec Training Program**. The program is designed to provide an immersive learning experience, requiring focus and commitment to make the most of the mentorship, problem-solving activities, and real-world challenges. Candidates with excessive extracurricular commitments may struggle to keep up with the workload, limiting both their own development and the effectiveness of the program.

By setting these limits, we aim to create an optimal learning environment that allows participants to maximize their growth and readiness for future opportunities at Intratec.

## **What do selected candidates receive?**

* **Cost Assistance:** Candidates receive **R$2,000** as a stipend at the start of the program to support their participation.
* **Expert Mentorship:** Direct interaction and guidance from Intratec's team.
* **Valuable Experience:** The chance to work on meaningful challenges and refine essential skills.

## **What happens after the training program?**
